Life is…

Thina’s sister was in critical condition last night. As of this morning, she’s stabilised, but badly needs 4 bags of blood for transfusion. Her white blood cells have been outnumbering her red blood corpuscles at a growing rate, and this has brought about adverse effects to her body’s immune system.

I pray that she recovers and that she’d be able to feel much better and stronger. I know that God’s miracle will help completely heal her.

I ran into Mike H. this morning whilst I was depositing my stuff in the gym locker. We were exchanging pleasantries and got to the topic of how my life outside Sykes was. I told him about my project ending this Dec 31, and that I need to look for a new project. I shared to him that the experience I’m going through right now is something I never felt in Sykes. He did understand what I was taking about. Sykes sheltered us (in a good way) from the harsh truths of the real world. It was nice to know that he sees those things as a way of keeping grounded.

To cap off our conversation, he told me to add his name on my resume. That act made me feel so good about myself. I am honoured that he sees me to have been an important part of the business. So, I did agree with his recommendation and will be updating my resume. One powerful character reference will make a big difference.

Body Step, Body Balance and Jam are the group exercise classes that I have been attending lately. I’ve recently added Body Pump to my routine as I have much need to build strength and not just focus on cardio. My muscles felt like they were about to cramp out. Good thing Lito was an excellent teacher (along with Malou and Marvin). So, I have a new and a better rounded routine this time. I hope this helps me achieve my goal of toning and weight loss.

Last night towards the end of the Body Step class, I saw China guy behind me whilst I was doing my routine. I find it odd on the way he looked at me. He wore a poker face and the worst part is that I don’t know how to read signals. On my way out, we rode the life together. He was somewhat pulling closer to me whilst I shoved away because I didn’t want him to think that I was into him. He’s cute and seems like an intellectual. If I’d get the chance, surely I will brave to ask him or let him know that he’s a looker. Till the next time we meet.

Fabbie!

The dinner last Saturday was absolutely fabulous! Inspite of the gruelling time spent in the kitchen preparing the food, the compliments were enough reward for the effort. It was a bit sad though that there were some people who couldn't make it.

Well, it will be sometime again before we get to do something like that.

The dishes were simply delish! Green Salad, Baked Eggplant with Tomato and Cheese, Mushroom risotto, Fish Cream Stew, Fish Adobo and Pasta Bolognese.

We also had Chocolate fondue. :) It was funny that we used muscovado for the fondue because the cocoa we used was quite bitter. Nevertheless, it was sensational along with the fruits and lemon squares.

The spumanti, vodka and juices were perfect to complement the food served.

Most of all, it was the company that made everything just perfect. Heartfelt laughs and intruiging conversations. We had a moment wherein Jhon brought exotic chocolates that had sweet curry powder and another variant with wasabi. I wasn't much into venturing that night as I had plenty to eat. Good thing that I managed to work out a sweat @ the gym that afternoon.

We ended around 33o am. Ha. All of us simply needed to lay our heads. Cher was knocked out as I texted her because I forgot my volleyball shoes at her place.

Probably we can do this again for Thanksgiving. This time, more people should cook. :)

Below is what I got for mine.

Ian John

You have enormous vitality and originality making you a dynamic individual with great charm and sex appeal. You believe in putting one hundred per cent into all your activities of which there are many. You have potential to achieve great success in business or public affairs where your friendship and consideration of others wins you many allies. Your innate strength and determined effort is able to overcome any obstacles. Freedom is important to you.

I agree with most part of it with the exception of sex appeal. It should be more like sex repel. hahaha.

I love this movie. The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.

This is probably one of the best gay themed film that I have ever seen in my entire life. Now, if only I could get my hands on owning a DVD copy... It is a hard to find film in movie and record bars.

You Never Can Have It All

Anéantissements dans le bureau have reached new heights. In this world, there are plenty of people who claim to know a lot of things. Some manage to pull off the stunt and fool plenty those around them of the lies they’ve built about themselves. It goes on for a long time until they encounter someone that can tell the difference.

I’ve ensnared you. Somehow, I admired you for your speaking ability. Looking deeper, you’ve nothing more than that. I don’t know how you’ve risen to that position knowing that even my former SL1s or RAs are capable of doing a better job than you. Oh, I know. You just happen to outshine everyone in your batch. Too bad, you are a poor reflection of what a good batch should have been.

Good luck with all of your calumniation. You’ll need better fish stories to disprove your creeping meatballism.

***** ***** ***** *****

I love FF RSC. I’ve made plenty of friends, both straight and gay. What’s more impressive is that I’ve come to have more crushes. Probably, it’ll stay that way for a while. I cherish my friendship with them too much than to pursue my own happiness. I’ll just ruin things if I push further.

*SIGH* I envy Jace. He has Dave who seems such a thoughtful and sweet guy. Anton is an achiever who is slightly advanced in age from me and yet, he looks way better than me. Benjie. A looker whom I’ll simply admire from afar. Hans is someone I just met a couple of weeks ago. He is deaf and I’m glad I know enough sign language to talk with him. He feels lonely because not everyone there knows how to sign. I figured, I’d keep him company when I have time. Everyone deserves a friend. We'll see how far this will go.

Do You Think It’s Wise?

So last Friday was eventful. As much as I was looking forward to closing the week, then an abominable event happened. A bomb went off in a section of Glorietta 2 a quite a number of people were injured and around 10 died. It did bring quite a scare to the general public. For me, I am very grateful that I wasn’t in the vicinity when it happened.

This event has a multitude of possible angles, but most of all, it disappoints me that some people have become so desperate for attention that they’re willing to sacrifice innocent lives for the sake of being recognized or if politically motivated, they have gone to such a low blow in diverting public attention from the current gov’t hot items.

Eitherway, it is always the public that suffers this dilemma. I hope that those people injured be able to recuperate, whilst those who passed away be granted eternal peace. As for those responsible, hell has a spot waiting for people like you.

***** ***** ***** *****

After the mayhem last Friday, people were somehow adamant to go out. I told my mum that the public shouldn’t be stumped by such events. Doing so will be giving in to what those cowards are trying to instill. Anyway, I went too FF MoA and enjoyed my 1st visit there. The gym was well cooled and it was definitely one of the more spacious clubs in the Manila area. I attended the 5:30pm Body Jam class with my great FF RSC Jammers. We smoked the crowd whilst Andre led the attendees to the sweat away.

The lockers were somehow unique since it only needed a card slowly swiped on the scanner to lock/unlock. One problem though is that you have to carry the card around, and if you have a poor memory, you’d run the risk of forgetting your locker number.

One of my RSC buddies had his card stolen. Good thing he didn’t lose anything. In the end, I think going there would be a good option from my regular FF The Fort Saturday sessions.

Failures and Frustrations

Last night I had a conversation with mum regarding financial expenses and all. It was light enough, however the seriousness brought about the heavy and sad feeling.

I’d love to help out, and I give out my regular share in the household expenses. However, I will stand by my budget because I wouldn’t want to be a burden to my family.

I know that things will get better. We have a lot to be thankful for, and I am eternally grateful with that. It may sound like I’m pushing my luck, but we’ve no one to turn to for help with my mum’s probs. *SIGH* Heaven Help Us.

I got this forwarded email from a dear former co-worker. Somehow it struck a nerve. To sum it up, the email’s essence is reminding us to go back to the basics. As we get older, our lives become way too complicated that we fail to see the simple things in life that brought us joy and contentment.

Read on.

Gising, frend.

May multivitamins, vitamin E, vitamin C, royal jelly, tsaka ginkobiloba.

Dati, laging may inuman.

Balikan mo sila.

Ikaw ang nagbago, hindi ang mundo. ***

I enjoyed my days of youth and young adulthood. Life is indeed mysterious as it reveals the truths when you age and cannot do anything to avoid it.

Stardust

Stardust was amazing. I saw it last night with Benneth @ Gb1 and all I could say was the story was a good representation of the book. The powerhouse cast of Michelle Pfiefer and Robert De Niro carried the weight of the movie’s storyline.

Of course, I’d say the young lad who played Tristan’s dad looked much better than Tristan. Tristan’s looks evolved from clumsy/scrawny to dashing. Thanks to the Captain’s intervention. One thing missing in the movie that always reminded me was Tristan’s bowler hat. Anyway, it had no great significance in the movie nor the book. Only it represented where he came from.

The way it ended was nice. To sum it up, I like both versions. Neither is comparable to the other as it both had its separate methods of transcendence.

Thank heavens for Gb1. We got to enjoy the movie comfortably whilst others battled for the congestion of Gb3 and G4 theatre seats.

I’m glad that my skin is on its road to recovery. The blisters have all popped. The itching has replaced the slight burn sensations. Collantro is doing an excellent job in keeping the skin dry after bath. Regardless if I completely recover before this weekend, I’ll need to stay away from the pool for fear of infection or passing it on to someone else. YES, I am the humane and concerned of other people’s welfare.

I’ve been getting compliments lately about how I’ve slimmed down. I owe it all to working out and no eating after 6pm (M-Th). Let’s keep up the good work and increase the weight training. I’m sure that would take the effects further an better.

In line with that, I was shopping for a white coat to match my white ensemble. To my dismay, I found one that was perfect. It was roughly P28K or US$575. The style was smart and could pass from casual to semi casual. I used to fit in a size 50 for coats. I tried on S52 and S54 last night and was shocked to learn that the tummy area was ill fit. S56 would’ve been nice, but why should I go to that extent. I’ve taken that as a challenge to go further with the battle of the bulge. I’m aiming to drop at least 2 inches off the waistline by end of this month. We’ll see.

I was working out at Fitness First Fort last Saturday. I always see this guy and a half (yes he had a minion!) I feel that he is a celebrity wannabe desperate to get attention by making innuendos to gay men whilst in the locker room. He feels that he’s so hot that gay guys would swoon at him every chance they get. I admit he isn’t half bad looking, (His minion is like a terrier. Dude, grow taller or do something to be noticed else you’ll be a forever sidekick.) yet his wannabe badass attitude is a major turn off. I’m sure some of his gay men acquaintances are just being nice to him. Truth still shows that he needs more of a character improvement. I only have one word for you. BOTTOM!!!

I was with Cher last Friday and we hung out at BHS. I came across this guy whom I met at a party I crashed. Anyway, we exchanged the usual pleasantries and introduced Cher to him and his friends. Funny though, when all that was over, Cher told me that he liked me. The guy was looking at me in an entirely different manner. And not that I’m straight or what have you, we both realised that he might have thought that I was seeing her or something. God! We were both laughing as we figured that was perfectly fucked up chance to spend time with someone.

WELL! It was unavoidable. I’m sure something that good would turn up in time. For now, I’m focusing on self improvement.

Blister Fister

Thank heavens that the blisters I have are starting to dry out. Its good that the pain has somehow dissipated. However, now it’s the itching part that I would have to deal with. Nevertheless, I’m grateful that this is coming to a close.

On a side note, I was going through my stuff the other day and got a chance to go over my contract and found out that I should have been given a health card and other entitlements when I went on board with the company last July. So I sent an email inquiry to our company HR about this and hope that they could give me good and acceptable answers.

Good luck on that.

I am having some confusion about my work. I was hired to be an OM for my team. However, it seems that most of my decisions have been overturned by my senior. I ask with my co-workers if I was the only one having that experience. To my surprise and dismay, everyone gets that treatment. *sigh* Well, I’ll have to work hard in showing her that I am capable of making such decisions and can take responsibility for my actions. Inspite of all that, I give her credit for being open minded and a good listener.

2. Original Lacoste Caiman shirts. (Pink, Orange, Brown and Black)
3. White Boots (leather soles only!)
4. White watch either by KC or if my budget could afford, Rado True White.
5. D&G Blue eyeglasses. A bit pricey, but very much fashionable and perfect for my face.
6. Spin dryer for the laundry. Our dryer is getting overworked because the clothes are not fully wrung after rinsing.

Ouch.

Finally, my former employer issued the cheque for my back pay. I have to admit that I was quite disappointed with the amount given inspite of my 7 years of service. But hey, I’m not being an ingrate, I am very much thankful as this money is something I’ll be using to save up and pay off some debts.

Money comes and goes like the rain. Inspite of its torrential downpour, when its gone, its gone. I’m still lucky that I get to live a very comfortable life.

Last night, I talked to mum about some stuff and she was feeling miserable on having been pulled over for traffic violation. Well, she managed to reason her way out, but what struck her was she completely forgot to renew her driver’s licence. You see, I’d love to help her out as much as I can with her financial woes, but I also need to save up for my future. I refuse to be of burden to my family knowing that I will be single towards the later years of my life.

Don’t worry mum, things will work out and I’m sure that God will help us through these trying times. Just a little more and we’ll get there.

I don’t know where these rashes came from, but it has been a week and they’ve morphed from mere red rashes to inflamed rashes with welts. Somehow, it affects the mobility and flexibility of my skin in the affected areas. I will be going to the hospital later and will be paying out of my own pocket. DAMN! I miss having a Medicard. At least my former employer gave me that benefit even if I was proby. Now, I’ll have to wait until I get regularised by January (or hopefully earlier). I hope that this is nothing too serious and nothing to costly. Money is a bit tight right now. Winning the lottery jackpot would surely be welcomed.

Update! I went to the ER yesterday and had myself examined. Doctor says that I have a mutated case of chicken pox. Its not your typical pox that has itchy blisters and fever and all that. This time around, the blisters have this burning sensation and the area affected limits the muscle movement. God I hate that I was injected a 2K worth of pain killer. To date, the needle scar is still on my vein. Well, the nice thing about it is the pox will self heal. The bad thing is it would take 1-2 weeks. No steamroom/sauna and no Spa treatments. I'll take that rather than something worse.

Last night was our Group Manager's (I really don't know his exact position/title) birthday party held @ Joey Pepperoni's Fort. I loved the pizza and the pasta. There were nice artsy fartsy pics taken as well. From there we went to my favourite Friday spot, BHS. We capped the night by chatting office stuff whilst sipping tea and dessert @ CBTL BHS. It was my first night out with my work group, and I had a good time.

SMS Quotes:

Here are a couple of SMS quotes that I received from good friends that makes one feel good and cherish everything about life.

“There’s no proof when or how everything started…
There’s no insight when or how everything will end…
I’m just glad that in between the beginning and the end,
You and I became friends.”

“Always live the life you want to live.
Be the person you can be proud of.
Make decisions. Make mistakes.
If you fell, you fell because you tried.
No regrets.
Embrace the total dork in you because life is too short to be always cool.
You are what you are. Take it or leave it.
Live life your way.”

Right now, I’m still wondering where this procession will go to. My fate with my current job falls in the hands of my manager. I really haven’t talked to her about it as I’m engulfed with the daily operation issues of my team. It is good that this keeps me busy, but at the end of the day, I am still left with an open-ended question of what will happen to me after December 31, 2007.

I did update my resume in jobstreet.com and so far all I’ve seen are call centre positions. I’m still trying to make things work being outside the call centre industry and see how far I can go.

I also need to check on what my contract states on my status (whether I’m co-terminus with the existing project or permanent).

Heaven help my heart.

Monday. Whatta!

Last Saturday evening, the Sunday group had its wine party @ Benneth’s place in BLS. It was an intimate evening with good food, great friends and fabulous wine choices. We did miss out some essential people in the group. Too bad, it would’ve been more fun. J Nevertheless, it was an evening to remember. We sampled different kinds of wine, from the sweet kind to the slightly stronger ones.

It was also the 2nd time our group had a special guest courtesy of Jayvee. I’d say we welcome Rene to the group.

The night was all about reminiscing good times, updating each other with the latest stories of our lives and all that jazz. Oh and it was the first time we got to meet Carl (for most of us that is).

We folded at around 3am and still had like 4 bottles of wine and a 3-litre box of wine left. This calls for a part 2. This time, I hope more peeps could make it.

*******************

Yesterday afternoon, I got the perfect opportunity to visit one of the newest shopping arenas here in Manila. This was all because I had to get my new phone @ Globe Trinoma, where Cay was assigned. It was quite a trip since I hardly go far north after moving to Manpower.

The weather was ugly, but thanks to the MRT as the trip was relatively easy and comfortable.

As soon as I got of the North Station, my eyes were struck with the multitude of melee in the mall. From the ground level, I observed that the structure was reminiscent of ATC in the South. Indeed, Ayala Corp is trying to make its signature looks visible in all its establishments. I got to Cay’s office and the transaction was very fast. I’m lucky to have gotten a new mobile (Moto V6) for free with Plan 1200. The whole deal was simply meant to be.

After that, I went to Powerbooks Shang to pick up the book I’ve reserved. ‘twas too funny how the guy told me that I was too patient to have waited. I just told him it wasn’t on my top priority and had the time in the world to wait.

The evening was capped with a light dinner @ Via Mare Shang. A bowl of porridge with mixed toppings. I brought home Bibingka galapong with duck eggs for mum. It was the perfect treat for a rainy Sunday evening.

********************

Bad news @ work. More people are leaving. I just hope this bleeding effect heals before it goes really bad.
