Dry

Having started the QBR week, has proven to be quite a tough challenge for all of us. This only shows that we have
indeed lost Jay from the team. I'm glad that she had prepared us well enough to, learn on how to face these kinds of challenges.

I am still pondering on whether I should try mu luck for the Account Manager position of the Macromedia Tech support
team. I am asking the Higher power above to give me guidance in making a decision for this. I am honestly more afraid of the compensation package that Sykes offers for this position, yet the experience to be gained is definitely promising. I have a gut feeling that I would be able to make things work better for them.

Well, I should still go to sleep. I have work tonight and Gym day tomorrrow.

Rest easy child.

Easter weekend

So, I have wrapped up my first week at OSM. Working throughout the holy week was a bore, but better than being in the sweltering heat outside.

Anyway, this particular Sunday is very special. Aside from the good Lord's resurrection, the films I've seen today are
somewhat totally reflective of what Society was, is and will be.

Seeing the documentary film, The Laramie Project, made me wonder how man makes himself his own enemy. The inability
to tolerate and accept another individual's alternative way of life has always led to disputes...even worse, death.

I think people fail to see that there are always two (2) sides to a coin. Both can be correct, and both can also be wrong. The important factor here is that we, as human beings should learn how to value the sanctity of life. Our Creator made sure that the world we live in was habitable. It was man that wrought the havoc and chaos. Still, no matter how different we all are, we are all human beings. Tolerance and Acceptance is our main goal in life.

The next movie was The Pianist. This movie showed how miracles can take place. Amidst the war and tyranny being
experienced, HOPE should always reign in our hearts. Learn to trust the Kindness of strangers. Cliché but true, Love
and acceptance of our differences will take us a long way.

As for the family, Mum, Dad and Kuya Mike had their conflicts last night. Dad feels that in order for Kuya Mike to learn living his life, he should move out. I am saddened like Mum because Kuya Mike feels like he's being treated like a peasant. I hope that he will be enlightened of the truth that we are his family, and that all we hope for is for his welfare. Obviously, he is old enough to live on his own. Perhaps, now is the time for this to happen.

Well, I gotta sleep. I'll be at the gym tomorrow morning.

Settled and all

So last Monday, was my official first day here at OSM. I was impressed on how smooth the move went. There were issues, but they were immediately addressed.

I admit that the view is great especially during evenings. The lavatories are hideous, but tolerable. I'd say I will still love this place because this is a floor solely for us, and that alone makes us privileged.

Poetry

This poem was forwarded to me by Rachel (a co-worker). I
must admit that it has quite a funny tone.
*****************************

I am Gay

In a world of violence with the truth in silence
I fear it is something they don’t wanna hear
I should disappear and go far, far, far, away
From tomorrow and today
Never knowing what to say
There has to be a way to convey this
God I hate this
Sticks and stones will break your bones
But stones will kill, kill, kill, when you’re alone
Mind not my tone
Sanity in another zone
Who can I rely on?
Which side do they lie on?
Any shoulder to cry on?
My skin is what you should try on
To know what I am feeling
To see I am not healing
To learn how I am dealing
Give me something to believe in
So here goes nothing
Can’t wait another day
Can you please pass the ketchup?
Mom…
Dad…
I am gay.

The move hath begun

From the innermost senses of my being, I am now officially a history in SMPC. It is time to start anew once more. Wonderful beginnings would surely usher in a better atmosphere.

The feeling of mixed emotions and all that sadness is setting in.

Well, its time to sign off from SMPC.

See you in OSMA.

Happy Weekend Ian.

Going to the next phase

Today, marks the last day I will spend in the building I've come to love and despise altogether. Four (4) years have gone so quickly. It all seemed like yesetrday when I was starting out with Sykes. Time flies fast when you're having too much fun. It is now time to move on to the next level.

Honestly, I am scared of where this is all heading. I feel that I am charting a path that is bound to have a very predictable ending. I would love to embark on new challenges, but I fear the fact of having to take the risk, and get out of my comfort zone. What is there to look
forward to? Most of the colleagues I've worked with have gone their own ways, paving a new way for themselves. Determining the direction to go to in life can really be confusing. The excitement of entering a different phase brings out the life, and youthful exuberance in most
people. For me, I am afraid, and I have every reason to be.

Given the uncertainty of our times, playing safe definitely keeps you grounded. However, taking risks is a double-edged sword. You can hit the big time or be completely wiped out. Right now, I know I am playing safe with all of the things I do. I am not getting any younger, and if I intend to pursue higher goals, now is not the time to be short sighted. It is obvious that for every long-term goal, the hardships are more incredulous, but the rewards can be very promising.

I pray to the powers that be, and Higher Power to give me strength and wisdom in making sound decisions and judgements; courage to face the challenges, and resilience to accept the consequences.

For now, the flesh seeks rest. Good night.
