Plastered...Yes plastered...and Fabulous

Yes, Friday was good. Thanksgiving was a feast for me this year. I actually got to spend it with my dear friends although one was missing. It started out as a simple dinner at McD's GB. From there, we were hoping to catch some rides at Star City and see some excitement from the amusement park.

To our dismay, they were already closed by the time got there. So we decided to tread the whole length of Baywalk along Roxas Boulevard. It was quite a change of scenery from my usual Makati travelogue.

Our first stop was to quench our thirst as evening grew more humid and hot. We took funny pics of each other whilst sipping our drinks. Afterwards, we carried on by walking slowly and savouring the festive atmosphere that emanates from the whole stretch.

At the final leg, we decided to hit Malate and get something to drink. We strolled along Bocobo all the way to Nakpil. We got to an adult store and checked out some stuff. It actually gave me a couple of ideas for the Kris Kringle. Anyway, from there we went listening to acoustic live music at Club Indios. We caught the last set of a guy who did quite well, and was followed by a group called higher ground. They sounded really good and even reminded me of the Subic moment I had in 2003.

From Club Indios, we stepped into Gilligan's and drank more. I knew I should have eaten because I was getting way to lightheaded. I was quite happy to be feeling this way. It has been a long time since I had a great night out on a FRIDAY! Worse part of it, I actually wanted to get some action. I wanted to just have sex with the first guy who caught my eye. Yeah...too bad I was too fucking wasted. Part of my rule is to never engage is sexual activities whilst highly intoxicated, but this time was willing to make an exception as I haven't any since 1998. It donned to me that we weren't walking straight, and I needed to get some nourishment as I was starving.

So we hailed a cab and went to Filling Station. I was knocked out whilst in the taxi until my mum called. I think it was around 6am at that time. So we ordered our food and then it toooooooook fucking forever for them to serve it. After a few convincing shouts at the waitresses, the food was served.

After that, we split ways. When I got home (take note that is was 8:30am), I was preparing myself for a sermon, and to my surprise, none came.

So, I glugged more water and then slept. I went to the gym afterwards, and then fold. If I were asked how my Saturday was, I'd say it was WICKED!

A Sweet November Weekend

A Sweet November Weekend

Things went pretty good last week.

I was able to finish my work tasks on time. I also went to the gym four(4) times. I didn't eat that much healthy I think, but I'm pretty sure that I was close to being really good at eating the right stuff. I saw Harry Potter last night too. Spent time with Cher and a couple of her clients which was cool, and had a round of drinks. The night ended with a light caramel root tea and chocolate chip cookie courtesy of CBTL Gb3.

*************

Early in the day, I met up with my cousins who flew in from Australia to take a couple of weeks off with their kids. I must say that it was nice seeing family again. I must admit that with the onslaught of work in the recent weeks, I was always looking for an escapade. We had a team building which I totally ditched for the sole reason that I wanted to spend time with family. Mum tells me that I've been shrugging off the time I share with them by working long hours. I feel that she is actually correct.

Funny though, most of my co-workers and co-managers told me that I've yet to join a team building with them for this year. On the contrary, I did join the company outing. That's as interpersonal as I can get. It gets like that from time to time. I'm not exactly being snotty or choosy, but I just want to some time for myself.

*************

Lunch was good, but it could've been better. I love chinese food, but the restaurant's food was a bit too pricy. Mum and I have been to really great Chinese places, and definitely I plan ahead too. I make sure to reserve a place so we have the right seats at the right place and at the right time.

I recall that the Sunday group haven't tried REAL Chinese food in the Heart of Manila. So, I suggested that we go to this resto called Lai Lai. And to my amazement, the place is actually owned by my eldest bro's wedding godparents. Definitely, I have to convince the group that it is worth the effort and money. Binondo, HERE WE COME!!!

*************

Jason Mraz has been a singer I've been listening to in the past. However,in the recent months, I've gotten to grow a bit of a crush on him. He writes good songs. They're fun and and easy to listen to. He has some songs with heavy emotions, but they're still positive enough that it would actually convince you to carry on with your life, rather the go to a complete sulk.

*************

Its another bloody week, but it will be a short one. The reason? Thanksgiving.

Cheers!

What is it this time?

What is it this time?

So it has been days and I'm unsure whether to feel pleased that my lovelife isn't actually empty...if you consider falling for someone I've met online as Love. Beggars can't be choosers. A phrase I am quite familiar with as I'm the kind of person who is completely not so up there in the dating list.

*************

It has been a year since dad passed away. Mourning period is over. It is time to move on. I'm ready to move on. I hope our whole family is too. Dad will be up there, watching us as he sips his favourite tea whilst sitting on his favourite chair. I will miss you dad. Thanks for everything you've given and thought. I am extremely honoured that I was under your tutelage, as without you there'd be no me. I love you. Until I see you in the after life.

*************

A few songs I've been hearing have been making quite a mark in my heart. Mariah's Butterfly is probably one of her best written/produced songs. Everything is well meshed and it makes me slip into a thinking state whenever I hear it. Nevermind the video.

Here are the lyrics of two songs that I've listened to in the 90s and 2004. Both pop rock and both are of essential hits during their time.

Music: Have You Ever Needed Someone So Bad
Artist: Def Leppard

Here I am, I'm in the wrong bed again
It's just a game I just can't win
There you are breathin' soft on my skin
Still you won't let me in

Why save your kisses for a rainy day
Baby let the moment take your heart away

Have you ever needed someone so bad, yeah
Have you ever wanted someone
You just couldn't have
Did you ever try so hard
That your world just fell apart
Have you ever needed someone so bad
And you're the girl I gotta have
I gotta have you baby

There you go, midnight promises again
But they're broken by the dawn
You wanna go further, faster every day baby
But in the morning you'll be gone
And I'm alone

[Repeat Bridge]
[Repeat Chorus]

Every dream I dream is like
Some Kinda rash 'n' reckless scene
To give out such crazy love
You must be some kinda drug
And if my time don't ever come
For me you're still the same
Damned if I don't, damned if I do
I gotta get a fix on you

*************

Music: Everything
Artist: Alanis Morissette

I can be an asshole of the grandest kind
I can withhold like it's going out of style
I can be the moodiest baby that you've ever seen
And you've never met anyone
Who is as positive as I am sometimes

I am the wisest woman you've ever met
I am the kindest soul with whom you've connected
I have the bravest heart that you've ever seen
And you've never met anyone
Who's as positive as I am sometimes

You see everything, you see every part
You see all my light and you love my dark
You dig everything of which I'm ashamed
There's not anything to which you can't relate
And you're still here

I blame everyone else, not my own partaking
My passive-aggressiveness can be devastating
I'm terrified and mistrusting
And you've never met anyone as
As closed down as I am sometimes

You see everything, you see every part
You see all my light and you love my dark
You dig everything of which I'm ashamed
There's not anything to which you can't relate
And you're still here

What I resist, persists, and speaks louder than I know
What I resist, you love, no matter how low or high I go

I'm the funniest woman that you've ever known
I am the dullest woman that you've ever known
I'm the most gorgeous woman that you've ever known
and you've never met anyone
Who is as everything as I am sometimes

You see everything, you see every part
You see all my light and you love my dark
You dig everything of which I'm ashamed
There's not anything to which you can't relate
And you're still here

And you're still here
And you're still here...

November Picwhoring!!!

Struggling to lose

Struggling To Lose

Normally, people would find it easy to just give up the struggle as in most cases. Im my case, I'm actually struggling to lose. Yes. I am struggling to lose weight. I was successful in 2004 to shed a couple of pounds in the time I had just joined the gym. I am thankful for my friends who were there to give me the push I need.

This time around, I need to push myself on my own. I know I can make it if I push myself further and harder. I know that I can do it. I just need to do this one step at a time, and I know things can turn around. I feel that I will be successful this time around.

We'll see if something happens in the next month.

****************

How's love?

None.

Here I am still patiently waiting and hoping things will be brighter. Yeah. I am actually at peace with myself and I'm not rushing myself like I used to. Times can get desperate, but looking around just takes too much effort and most of all, it can be quite disheartening, knowing that physical attributes have taken over the criteria in meeting Mr. Right. I'm not saying that I follow that path, yet I would be hypocritical if I say that all I need is a man with a good personality. NO. I'm not looking for someone who is a total stud (but if he likes me, I would give it a try). I'm looking for someone presentable with a right amount of humour, seriousness, romance and warmth.

Blah! Enough of this talk about love.

I'm postponing my plans on taking up driving school. YES! I'm turning 30 and I still don't know how to drive and swim. Very pathetic.

I'm tired. I just got home from the gym, and I'm looking forward to the belly dancing classes on Thursday. I bet that one would be very challenging.

Weekend Entry

Weekend Entry

This weekend went by like it was just another regular day. It was quite busy as well as unusually joyous. I guess it was because the group was whole again. It has been a long time since we've been together.

Saturday:

Went home early after work. Benz and I took the regular bus home. The traffic was fucking terrible. It makes you wonder why the government loves to engage in road construction when the traffic is at its worst.

When I got home, I was still able to get at least an hour and a half sleep. Around 230pm, I woke up and went tot he gym for JAM. It was such an energising Saturday. I was glad to see Clyde in RS. Perfect chance to reconnect after not having seen him for a few weeks.

Afterwards, I headed to the volleyball game wherein I was late due to the really awful traffic en route. Anyway, when I got there, it was the second set and I played bad. Good thing chit took me out as I know I wasn't helping the team. The fates were kind as we won over the competitor. We're officially in the Semis. NICE!

Dinner at South Sea Grill at Metrowalk was fab. I got my BayBreeze spiked with more Vodka and less of the juices.

From there, we went to a music lounge where Clyde, Meng and I belted out until it was like 130am. Very fabulous night.

***************

Sunday:

Worship and Lunch with Mum. Just the perfect way to start a Sunday.

Then I went home to catch up on my personal emails and stuff. I met up with Benneth as we were going to watch at Gb3. It ended up as we went to G4 and saw 40 YO Virgin for my fourth time. It was just out of control. Meng, Cher and Benz were laughing their hearts out as was I.

To cap the night, we had drinks and pica pica at Friday's. Another round of BAY BReeze PLEASE!!!!!

A Song To Fight For The One You Love

A Song To Fight For The One You Love

Pat Benatar's We Belong was a song that I've always considered as song stuck in the 80s. Yet, when I listened to it recently, the lyrics struck me. It donned to me that this song is meant to fight in keeping the love alive. Cliche? Yes, but as always it is very true.

*************

I'm so looking forward for the weekend. I'm coming close to being flat broke and yet I still carry one spending unwisely. How very untimely to find things I would love to buy for myself or for gifts this Christmas. It is very unkind of fate to hold major SALE when you're flat broke or when you just bought something on regular price. HA! Anyway, this only means that I really need to save. If I intend to pay off all my debts in a timely fashion. Sometimes I wonder to myself on what I've gotten into. Life. You just have to hit the ball in whatever pitch it is thrown to your direction.

*************

Dad's 1st yr death anniversary is coming close. I have decided to take a day off to just reminisce his passing from the corporeal world. Wherever you are Dad, I hope you are happy. Pray for us that we make it through as a family in all our struggles. Keep watch over Mum in times I can't. Don't take her away. Not now. Not yet. I beg of you.

*************

If I am bound to meet someone who is meant for me, I hope that we're both ready to accept each other. I cannot go on playing the dating game. I have given up on it. I got no room to spare for hurt and anguish. But if it is the only way to make a relationship last, then so be it. If it is meant to be, it will happen no matter what the circumstances.

*************

Music: We Belong
Artist: Pat Benatar

Many times I've tried to tell you
Many times I've cried alone
Always I'm surprised how well you
Cut my feelings to the bone
Don't want to leave you really
I've invested too much time
To give you up that easy
To the doubts that complicate your mind

*Chorus

We belong to the light
We belong to the thunder
We belong to the sound of the words
We've both fallen under
Whatever we deny or embrace
For worse or for better
We belong, we belong
We belong together

Maybe its a sign of weakness
When I don't know what to say
Maybe I just wouldn't know
What to do with my strength anyway
Have we become a habit
Do we distort the facts
Now there's no looking forward
Now there's no turning back
When you say
*

Close your eyes and try to sleep now
Close your eyes and try to dream
Clear your mind and do your best
To try and wash the palette clean
We can't begin to know it
How much we really care
I hear your voice inside me
I see your face everywhere
Still you say
*

More of the 80's!

Yeah! That's my generation. Things were all glorious. The hair, the shoes, the clothes... everything was just defined as glam. The songs lingered on even if they were no longer popular. Classic. The 80's decade is best described as classic.

As promised, here are more of my favourite songs:

Music: Words
Artist: Missing Persons

Do you hear me
Do you care
Do you hear me
Do you care

My lips are moving and the sound's coming out
The words are audible but I have my doubts
That you realize what has been said
You look at me as if you're in a daze
It's like the feeling at the end of the page
When you realize you don't know what you just read

What are words for when no one listens anymore
What are words for when no one listens
What are words for when no one listens it's no use talkin' at all

I might as well go up and talk to a wall
Cause all the words are having no effect at all
It's a funny thing am I all alone

Something has to happen to change the direction
What little filters through is giving you the wrong impression
It's a sorry state I say to myself

What are words for when no one listens anymore
What are words for when no one listens
What are words for when no one listens it's no use talkin' at all

Do you hear me
Do you care
Do you hear me
Do you care

Let me get by
Over your dead body
Hope to see you soon
When will I know
Doors three feet wide with no locks open
Walking always backwards in the faces of strangers
Time could be my friend
But it's less than nowhere now
Less than nowhere now
Less than nowhere now
Now
Ow ow ow

Pursue it further and another thing you'll find
Not only are they deaf and dumb they could be going blind and no one notices
I think I'll dye my hair blue

Media overload bombarding you with action
It's getting near impossible to cause distraction
Someone answer me before I pull out the plug

What are words for when no one listens anymore
What are words for when no one listens
What are words for when no one listens it's no use talkin' at al

What are words for when no one listens anymore
What are words for when no one listens
What are words for when no one listens it's no use talkin' at al

Do you hear me
Tell me what are words for
Do you care
Tell me what are words for
Do you hear me
So tell me what are words for
Do you care
So tell me what are words for
Do you hear me
Tell me what are words for
So tell me what are words for
Do you care
So tell me what are words for
Do you hear me
Tell me what are words for
So tell me what are words for
Do you care
So tell me what are words for

Music: Voices Carry
Artist: Til Tuesday with Aimee Mann

In the dark, I like to read his mind
But I'm frightened of the things I might find
Oh, there must be something he's thinking of
To tear him away
When I tell him that I'm falling in love
Why does he say

Hush hush keep it down now voices carry
Hush hush keep it down now voices carry
Uh-uh

I try so hard not to get upset
Because I know all the trouble I'll get
Oh, he tells me tears are something to hide
And something to fear
And I try so hard to keep it inside
So no one can hear

Hush hush keep it down now voices carry
Hush hush keep it down now voices carry
Hush hush keep it down now voices carry
Uh-uh

He wants me
But only part of the time
He wants me
If he can keep me in line

Hush hush keep it down now voices carry
Hush hush keep it down now voices carry
Hush hush shut up now voices carry
Hush hush keep it down now voices carry

Oh hush hush, darling, she might overhear
Hush, hush - voices carry
He said shut up - he said shut up
Oh God can't you keep it down
Voices carry
Hush hush voices carry
I wish he would let me talk

Music: Under Pressure
Artist: Queen with David Bowie

Pressure pushing down on me
Pressing down on you no man ask for
Under pressure
That burns a building down
Splits a family in two
Puts people on streets

Bah bah bah bah bah bah
Bah bah bah bah bah bah

That's o-kay!
It's the terror of knowing
What this world is about
Watching some good friends
Screaming let me out!
Pray tomorrow takes me higher
Pressure on people
People on streets

Do do do bah bah bah bah
O-kay
Chippin' around
Kick my brains round the floor
These are the days
It never rains but it pours
People on streets
People on streets

It's the terror of knowing
What this world is about
Watching some good friends
Screaming let me out!
Pray tomorrow takes me higher higher higher
Pressure on people
People on streets
Turned away from it all
Like a blind man
Sat on a fence but it don't work
Keep coming up with love
But it's so slashed and torn
Why why why?
Love love love love

Insanity laughs under pressure we're cracking
Can't we give ourselves one more chance?
Why can't we give love that one more chance?
Why can't we give love give love give love?
Give love give love give love give love give love?
Cause love's such an old fashioned word
And love dares you to care
For people on the edge of the night
And love dares you to change our way
Of caring about ourselves
This is our last dance
This is our last dance
This is ourselves under pressure
Under pressure pressure
