2005 is finally history

My thanks to everyone and everything for making 2005 a very memorable year. It was full of ups and downs, and yet I managed to pull through alive.

Happy New Year!!!

Christmas 2005

I am very thankful that I got to spend the actual Christmas eve and Christmas day at home. This is the first time in six years that I'm actually home for the holidays.

However, there is one downside to it. I am indeed happy that I've spent it with my family and relatives, but I have felt this time how terribly I miss my dad. I never expected to feel such sadness on a supposedly joyous occasion.

Today, when I heard Christmas Sunday worship, the choir was singing Silent Night. All of a sudden, I was glassy eyed. I couldn't help but feel sadness on how much our family can never be the same again. This holiday opened my eyes to what I have taken for granted throughout the years.

I overlooked the importance of cherishing the precious moments that our family spent time as a whole. I had to hide the tears because I know I was going to breakdown. I now understand how it feels like to be terribly lonely. Bitter. I feel very, very bitter. She also went to dad's grave. I wanted to go, but I felt that it was her solo time with dad. I had to give her the private moment. Besides, I would've broken down had I been there.

Just this evening, I looked at my mum whilst having dinner. Her eyes were obviously sad and empty. She may not say it, but I feel the gloominess of the moment. I can't believe that I am crying on a Christmas day. This is the very first time I've experienced this heartbreaking moment. *sigh*

I can already anticipate how miserable I'll be this coming New Year. I think I just lost my holiday spirit.

I'm out.

Honda City Jazz is now OWNED!

So the company Christmas party was a success. Tonnes of people were at PICC Forum 1-3 to join the festivities. I came as the red sylph, but unfortunately my costume wasn't quite what I designed. The tailor didn't follow my instructions and obviously the results were not the same. Since I didn't have the luxury of time, I just wore it as I didn't have a choice.

Funny though, when I got to the venue, as I got out of the taxi people were looking at me. I even got one stray comment saying I looked good. :D Now that made me a bit more flattered.

When I got in, it was all chaos and fun. A lot of peeps were in the fantasy costumes. It was an evening that meant to leave an impression for a long time. I'm quite happy I did join, plus of course, a brand new car was being given away. I surely wouldn't let that pass.

It was great to reunite with old friends and colleagues. The company has grown exponentially and now, I hardly see the people I've come to grow with. Nostalgic? Definitely. Its nice to see that a lot of people have moved on or up. For me, I should definitely start considering bigger advances to my career. I'm not getting any younger, so one of my resolutions would be to go abroad and find work there. Its not the US, but its a stepping stone to get there.

So much for the segue. So when the final prize was to be given away, the winner was a chap from the SGA team. I'm quite happy for him. Honestly, if I won the car, I would give it to my mum as she needs it definitely. Fate had other things in mind so all I could be is thankful to have the blessings and challenges I have in life. Sweet Lemoning? No, it is indeed just right to be gracious. To cap it all off, the Honda City Jazz is officially OWNED!

The party finished at around 4am. We took a little stroll in the CCP complex and then rode the Orange jeep to Vito Cruz. I miss the days we just hang out at night and stroll along the bay. Wait! I've done that only once. I guess this means I have to do it again. :)

Sordid, Trampled And Thrashed, Then Repeat Cycle

The weekend is here at last. Where am I as of this writing? At work as always. Pathetic. VERY.

Barely three weeks before Christmas and I have yet to finish the Christmas Shopping and sending out of greeting cards to my relatives abroad. My brother doesn't care about these things. I never should have expected that he would take on the task even if he wasn't preoccupied with anything at all.

I'm hoping to do them all this weekend and then mail by Tuesday. Will it be in time for Christmas? Probably, but I'm definitely sending them out this year. Last year, Christmas was totally not the spirit in me with dad's recent passing. But it has already been a little more than a year and it is definitely time to move forward. Memories are there to stay and we need to live our lives as we never know when our turn to leave this existence would come.

Our financial status is in shambles. I am very thankful that we still manage to get by and live comfortably. Not everyone is that lucky nowadays with the kind of economy that we have. Poor people are getting poorer, and the middle class is has been wiped out completely according to global standards of living. Therefore, in Manila, you're either RICH or POOR.

I'm trying my best to get into the holiday spirit. Good thing that the company party is happening next week. I know that will boost my morale. I'm actually excited as I am going there in full costume as a Red Elemental.

Oh, and I've decided to sacrifice a little fund for myself and open a trust fund that I can use in the future. I can definitely never tell on until when I can earn money, so I decided to invest it on something I can reap in monetary terms that is.

So, I'm off. Its the weekend and its time to rest.

The Crucifixion of Christmas

The Crucifixion of Christmas

The changes have finally taken place. Yes. Our business has been taken over. *sigh* We're no longer the big family that we used to be.

Some co-workers have been named to go. There are others who voluntarily left to pursue greener pastures or even take a radical sabbatical. One thing I'm very happy about is that Jim's staying. *sigh* If he only knew how much I...

As for our team, I'm no sure than anyone on what our fate would be. I hope things will be on the brighter side for us. Either way, the holiday spirit has obviously been dampened by this depressing turn of events. No matter how hard we try to keep the team spirit up, there's always a threat on our very existence.

I'm leaving everything to the man upstairs. He knows what's best for everyone. Things happen for a reason. They may not be an easy pill to swallow, but the results can be very promising.

Lovelife is Zero. Christmas will be somewhat different this time as some family members are no longer around. Sad? Not really. Life throws different pitches at us, and it up to us to hit the ball with all the best that we got.

On the lighter side of things, I have a costume to wear for our Christmas party themed "Elemental." I'll be the Fallen Angel for this year. I'll take pictures. Promise!!!

Digging My Own Grave

Digging My Own Grave

So I've been out of commission from work last night. Why? I couldn't breathe. I'm actually shit scared when things like this happen to me. I was lying on bed and my nostrils weren't pulling in any air. Breathing through my mouth makes me feel tense like I'm close to death. I can't help but think on what would happen when I fall asleep...and my mouth closes and I stop breathing. Death. I hope that doesn't happen...yet.

Anyway, in a moment I'll be heading off to dreamland. I have my nasal spray by my side and hope it works the way it should.

Work is stressful, but it is better that way than no work at all.

I'm looking forward for the weekend. Maybe I could watch Just Like Heaven and hope that makes me feel much better.
