Farewell To 2006Last night's Farewell to 2006 party was deemed a great success! The big part of it was made successful through everyone's thoughtful presence. Here's a roll call of those who made it: Jayvee, Meng, Clyde, Benz, Cher, Ian, Jay, Florence, Sheila, Chuckee and friend, Acee, Karla (sp), Hazel and Mike, Aileen, Jik, Jules, Joie, Thet, Rochelle and of course LaMing in behalf of Lee, Ada and Gelo. :) It was extremely touching to see everyone once again in a festive mood before 2006 is a goner. There was great venue (MOKSHA Fez @ Serendra was just the place to be that night), great food, great drinks and most important of all, a very great company. I said to myself that I still have it...the skill to pull everyone together and party. :)Too those who weren't able to make it, it was kinda sad your presence wasn't there. It definitely would've made things more fun!To those who were there, I've got one favour to ask. Please send me all of the pictures via orange76@gmail.com so that I could upload all of them in one album. :)Let's do this again this 2007. Everyone, start prepping your budget for Boracay 2007.Before this year ends, I would like to wish everyone a Happy and Prosperous 2007! I hope that all our goals, dreams and aspirations for 2007 come to fruition.Never Give Up.P.S.Clyde and Aileen promised to be with the Boracay 2007 crew.******************Music: Bridges Artist: Kevyn Lettau and Sergio Mendes

Closing The Year 2006The year 2007 draws near and yet the 2006 drama is still prevalent and threatens to spillover. It's amazing that towards the end of the year, everyone is a state of hysteria that for no apparent reason, emotions become high strung, people become unreasonable, ATM queues beats the line for a Madonna concert, and all that shiznat. ****************I'm so looking forward for our dinner on Saturday @ Serendra. This will be one of those few gatherings that we get on a year to catch up on each others lives and more importantly, bid farewell to 2006. I hope that everyone would be there. Too bad some of us are no longer in Manila, yet I'm sure they will be with us in spirit.****************Parents especially mothers have this certain method of making you feel guilty to the point of "you wanna make it up to them, but nothing you do would please them because its too late" degree. I'm praying harder than I've ever done before, that he prayers be answered. A little smile on her face this 2007 would make a big difference for us all.My prayers go out to the victims of the recent typhoons. I hope that they'll be able to recover from all of the turmoil and extreme challenges they face. **************** Cher and I are looking to go and see the Land of the Rising Sun in time for the Cherry Blossoms Festival. I'm so excited by this. But first, I need to figure out where I'm going to get the spending money. As we all know, Japan is among the top 5 countries that are considered to have an extremely high cost of living. Of course, there's the annual Boracay Summer getaway! This year it will be from April 18 - 25. Go!!! To my Boracay buddies, start getting into shape and gear up for summer whilst its still early!****************Music: What Is LoveArtist: HaddawayAlbum: A Night At The Roxbury OST

Christmas: Season of HopeAmidst the commercialism and overratedness of Christmas shopping, I've actually learned something very important.People scurry through the malls and shopping places trying to buy trinkets and tokens for their friends, loved ones and even not so good friends. This act alone shows how much people value those around them. The people around us, who touch our lives with our daily dealings in life, enrich and make things more meaningful.I realised all of this when I embarked on my holiday shopping 3 weeks ago. I'm glad I did. The feeling of fulfillment was just overwhelming. ***************On the downside, this is also the time we see people who are less fortunate. They tap our windows, ring our doorbells or sing random carols hoping that our hearts open up to them little and share some blessings.I'm glad that I was able to do a little charity work. Thanks to Benneth and Oi. I hope those who received the gift baskets would be able to use them. Honestly, I wish I could give more, but unlike most of the people I know, my budget isn't as bottomless as theirs. I know prayers would be a great supplement for the materials blessings, and that I will never forget to ask on their behalf from the man upstairs. As for me, I'm thankful for all of the blessings. I just pray that all of my family's prayer be answered. Me, I can be the last of HIS priorities because I know there are other people in this world who need more of his help than mine.Love: still looking for him. when? I don't know. If he comes, I hope I know that he's the one.Career: I'm still happy. When another opportunity comes along, I will take it. :) Time to move on and get out of my comfort zone. (Thanks Meme)Family: Don't even have a bf so that's out of the question.Plans for 2007: I'll post that next week. hehehe. To those whom I forgot to greet or send holiday cards to, my sincerest apologies. However, I'd give you all a great big Christmas HUG. :)***************Music: God Rest Ye Merry GentlemenArtist: Mariah Carey

Weekend BluesWell, the company Christmas party is over. I didn't win any of the prizes, but I'm glad I was there as I got to see some of the peeps who are in the different teams in the company. It was quite sad that a lot of my batchmates have already left for greener pastures or career shift. Others decided to start their own business, settle down or simply chose to be part of the mainstream population working during the daytime.Like every year, I get to see a vast of new faces that I don't even know. Some I got to meet during the sportsfest (and made great connections). Some I met via common friends and some through corporate trainings. Indeed networking of friends is a great system.********************Anyway, I was glad that Meng, Benz and I checked in a hotel near the party venue. That saved us a lot of trouble of having to hail a cab, lack sleep and all the hassles. Orchid Gardens Suite was a very relaxing place amidst the noisy Manila spirit. Surprisingly, it was very inexpensive yet comfortable and clean. Two most important words after the word afforable when it comes to accomodations. I will check in there probably if there's another party that would be nearby.*********************Little Miss Sunshine was the Sunday movie to see. I caught the film in Greenbelt 3 with Cher and Florence. Prior to that, we had a very filling dinner at Cafe Mediterrenean. Capped the dinner with their famous Mango Panacotta and got coffee at Starbucks (for the planner) (I miss Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf!!!).We also got to witness the amazing fireworks display held every Sunday, 9pm @ Gb3 Park. There's something about fireworks that brings out happiness and that warm fuzzy feeling only the holidays bring.I miss you daddy.Anyway, the movie had a powerhouse cast. Toni Collette, Greg Kinnear, Steve Carell and the rest were a family composed of what society brands as losers. A father who is a speech motivator on winning that couldn't close a deal for book. A mother/wife who smokes secretly. A Grandfather that got booted from the Home for the Elders due to heroine addiction. A colourblind son who's taken the vow of silence and can never be a pilot, An uncle who is gay and suicidal. They're all outshined by a little girl whose sole desire was to become a beauty pageant queen. The movie was filled with all sorts of emotion. It made you laugh and cry at the same time. Most of all, it hit home when it covered about the topic of family. I learned that no matter how dysfunctionaly a family can get, they will always be bound to each other regardless of the situation; that bond would be the most important link for us all.Keeping it together is a major struggle, but we all make it through even we're physically apart with the help of our family's spiritual presence.*********************Music: Higher LoveArtisit: Steve Winwood

What A Difference A Day MakesJust like the song that was sung by Dinah Washington, it day indeed does make a big difference. Barely two weeks to go and Christmas is here. For some strange reason, I've grown to feel a sense of balance between the spiritual and material manifestations of this blessed holiday. I can say that I've somehow become more generous this time.I've finished my Christmas shopping. Thank heavens! I survived the mayhem and sheer madness of people trying to look for the special things for their special someone.Me, I've cheated on some of the gifts by simply going to my favourite shoppe (The Body Shop) for some heavenly body care products.I'm thankful I've been able to buy others' gifts first before mine. I'll start buying mine early next year. Last mission for me to do is to send out my Christmas cards for my friends. I'll be doing that on Monday. As for tonight, it will be the Company Christmas party. I pray that I win the car. :) Its something I will give to Mum.*************************Music: Nasty GirlArtist: Inaya DayAlbum: Tokyo Project: Introduction

Wishes Christmas draws nearer each day. Somehow, every December, time flies as if tomorrow can't wait to happen. It only shows that we, inspite of all our technical advances, can never control time. **************** I was window shopping today and all I could see way things that I would like to own for myself. I saw this really nice shirt in Topshop and a nice pair of black shoes in GBX. SELFISH!!! That's what I thought to myself. That discouraged me to buy the stuff. Then I figured that I need to buy my family and friends their gifts first. Then pay the bills. Last would be me. Indeed, that is the order of things and it should stay that way. I'm thankful that I have these blessings to get me through each day. Others aren't so lucky enough. Anyway, I'm still on track with my expenses. I'll pay my insurance tomorrow, whilst mobile phone and electricity will be on the 15th. As for the party, I'll be wearing one of my old shirts that I hardly wore here in Manila. As for the hair, I'll do something with it if there's any budget left. ***************** Music: Wishes Artist: Nathan Morris Album: Soundtrack From The Motion Picture KazaamLyrics: Here I amOn my ownIt gets hard sometimesWhen I'm travelling this empty world all aloneAnd I get tiredAnd oh, I get oh so weakAnd I need for someone to come rescue meTo help me alongTo catch when I missTo show me where I ought to beSo I can be strongAnd face all of thisThat my life tries to discourage me withWith a little luck will I find youAnd if I doIs it you who'll make my dreams come trueJust a little bit of happinessIs all that I wishAnd I hope that you can grant me thisWhen I lookAt my lifeOh, and where I've beenAnd I wonder if this story has a happy endingLike they always doBut if my wish comes trueI just hope and pray I always can depend on youTo help me alongTo catch when I missTo show me where I ought to beSo I can be strongAnd face all of thisThat my life tries to discourage me withWith a little luck will I find youAnd if I doIs it you who'll make my dreams come trueJust a little bit of happinessIs all that I wishAnd I hope that you can grant me this

DENIED!Today was a day with mixed results. Mostly it was great. Towards the end, things got a bit fugly. I had to serve one of my agents a memo that was HR sanctioned. *sigh* I know that it was his own volition that caused the corrective action, but I am his supervisor and his actions are reflective of what I had inculcated in each and every agent in my cluster. I feel like I'm doing an inadequate job of motivating people to do good. I told mum about this and she said that it may be a reflection, but ultimately, it was his own undoing. I cannot take responsibility for all the actions of my agents.*sigh* I just hope this is the last sanction I'd be issuing. Doing corrective actions can be very emotionally taxing and mentally/physically exhausting.*****************Today, just when I thought that becoming agressive in times of pursiung the desire for carnal pleasure was the way to go, I GOT DENIED. YES! I GOT DENIED. I'm soooooooooooooooo out of the meet market. Someone HELP ME! This is how pathetic I've become.*****************Last Sunday, one of Mum's co-church member went to the worship feeling ill and weak. One of the elders told her that she should have stayed home to rest and recuperate. She said that she really had the sudden urge of seeing the church that day. Then Tuesday comes, whilst I was chatting with mum before going to work, she abruptly mentioned that Sis Baby had passed away. It shocked me. It donned to me that on that Sunday that she persisted to be at church, was the last time she would be there. This only proves that our life here on earth is very unpredictable. Cherish every moment and live life to the fullest. :)To sister Baby, may eternal rest be unto you and may perpetual light shine upon you. Rest in peace. ******************13th month has been released. It wasn't much, but I'm very thankful for it. Special mention to the late senator Blas Ople who authored that law. Bless his soul.I was listing the things I'm looking to buy and I prioritised on investing the money by buying US$ and opening a separate US$ account. I figured that I should save for the future and be wise in spending it. So far, my gift list has been almost complete. I'm also trying to budget it so I'd be able to buy the things I've planned for whilst covering all of the people in the list.Good luck to budgeting. I was saying the the 13th month pay was that big. Then Eva blurted, the money is big, you just have too many wants. She's right.******************Music: Visions Of A SunsetArtist: Shawn Stockman

And A Partridge In A Pear TreeLast night was quite a glimpse of things to happen this holiday season. I was with the Sunday group and surprisingly, all of us had the same observation on how busy December becomes especially on the weekends. To begin with, it was quite nice that we got together last night and did some catching up on our lives and such. You'd always see a sparkle in everyone's eyes whenever they're around a group of people they love. Smiles from ear to ear. Hearty laughs. Fine food. A little booze. Its just heartwarming on how this season lightens the moods and puts worries away.We also got to see Happy Feet. The movie was quite entertaining. Something good to watch on an easy Sunday. As always, we capped the night at CBTL GB3 with our favourite drinks.I'm already looking forward to the dinner at Jay's place next Sunday.******************Music: In Your ArmsArtist: MyloAlbum: Hed Kandi The Winter Mix 2005

'Tis December: The Season To Be JollyChristmas is definitely around the corner. I'd say I haven't felt the spirit of the season seep into me, but I'm happy that things are moving to a lighter mood just in time for the greatest time. ****************Last night was our business unit's Christmas party. I'd have to say that it was a wonderful night. The weather was a bit humid, but the atmosphere was festive and light. You can feel that everyone is happy to be around and see their friends and co-workers in a non-work gathering.Last night was also Mae's "farewell" from the team and business unit. I'm happy and excited for her. She has taken that bold step to search for her future and fate in another man's land. I know that with her resilience, she'll make it. Good luck to your future endeavours my dear Mae. I'll visit you someday. :)*****************Next week, I'll be working on the setting of the volleyball team for the Season 3 open at Club 650 in Libis. Check it out at www.club650.com . I'm hoping that Mizuno will open its generous arms to us and help us in joining this challenge. I'm seeing a big future for the team. Although I'm skeptical on what name I would call the team, but I'm sure things would fall into place once the financial things are set.*****************Music: Pump Up The Jam (House Remix)Artist: Technotronic
